We celebrate Veterans Day, we don't inquire as to the race or ethnicity of those who served.
IIRC the oldest living WWII veteran is black. So what ? Baron Von Steuben Day used to be celebrated in NYC by painting the stripe down East 86th Street cornflower blue.
Germans have been the biggest ethnic group that came to this country, yet how much celeberation of them do we see? The names of the beer breweries, that's about it.
