Deadly weekend shootings in big cities

Deadly weekend in Seattle, Chicago, Minneapolis as New York City reports uptick in shootings!

Wonder what the rest of the weeks shootings numbers were as the article doesn't mention..

Major cities in the U.S. reported bloody weekends amid increased calls to defund and disband police departments in the wake of George Floyd’s death in police custody.

The New York Post reported Monday that there was one shooting in the city per hour on Saturday and cited a police chief who told the paper that defendants arrested for gun possession have been allowed to skip jail during the coronavirus pandemic. The paper reported that 24 people were shot citywide on Saturday alone.

Bloody weekends in cities across the US but article doesn't mention all cities..

Are you calling for stricter gun control to combat the problem? Many current and former chiefs do.

Gun control laws are only for the law abiding. Even a total gun ban doesn't apply to these miscreants that kill each other by the dozens.

Yeah they say that living in such neighborhoods places a chronic stress on people, causing health problems, etc. I can believe it.

I remember 2010, driving back from Pittsburgh with the family in a minivan. Sunday afternoon traffic jams, cutting across the Chicago south side on surface streets. Bad economy, lots of closed up businesses. Got the gimlet eye from more than a few pedestrians, clearly being from somewhere else.

Despite the Heller decision, NYC has maintained total prohibition; what's stricter than that?

Where is the national, and worldwide outrage of these senseless deaths? Where are the Black Lives Matter Protests against the killing of Black Americans?

Give it up -- those questions have been asked thousands of times and never answered. They never will be answered.

I know but the more these killings are highlighted I believe the more BLM and others will retreat until something else makes them rear up.

Are you kidding me? Ask religious leaders who are supporting BLM if they have EVER visited the families of the victims of Black-on-Black crime. Ask if they have EVER participated in a demonstration against Black-on-Black crime. Come back and tell us what they said.

                      no, just you...

                      got your Fudd hat out?

                      btw,

many former and current chiefs helped cause the police issues you say we have now,, so their take on policy issues is pretty pointless correct?

Like RED in your own way. Pulling up a 3-day post, out of context, to start an argument. This is where you reply telling me I'm wrong but you still add nothing to the thread--a practice you claim to frown upon.

I was out of the area for a few days picking up an estate out of state,

limited time to surf, so time to get caught up,

not starting an argument, replying to your post, and not out of context,
you are the guy that promotes gun control to solve social problems, your own post history shows that, just own it and move on,

as far as adding value to a thread,, the comments about those police chiefs is valid,

wanna solve a problem?, look at who is handling it, those high paid guys are not,,, nor is the mayor, or governor, or senator, or congressman, or state legislature,
you know, the one's elected to do so...

instead folks (looking in your direction) want more control, when they cannot handle what they control now,,

funny part, you posted elsewhere a comment about my mentioning TDS,, you , and others, keep blaming a President for a local problem,, and yet refuse to want to handle it locally, like it should be,

well maybe not funny,, actually a bit sad, and I guess a bit socialist

Elmer has been disarmed. But he's still plenty dangerous.

If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.
