County says Non-white people don't need to wear coronavirus face masks

Dividing the country a bit more you think maybe?..

Oregon county says non-white people don't need to wear coronavirus face masks if they have 'concerns about racial profiling and harassment'

Health officials in Lincoln County, Oregon, announced Tuesday that people of color are exempt from the local order to wear face masks

'People of color who have heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment due to wearing face coverings in public' are exempt, they said
Concerns have been raised that ordering everyone to wear masks puts people of color at increased risk because of racial stereotyping

Ohio State University economic professor Trevor Logan told CNN in April when black men wear masks people perceive it as 'criminal or nefarious'

Coming from Ohio State I can understand why. The people in Columbus are a "little" to the left on much of their thinking.

The Ohio State University. Boggs should know that.

The really annoying one is you can be somewhere public in PA (this is before Covid), and someone will spontaneously shout out "WE ARE!" and scattered people in the crowd will shout back "PENN STATE!" Creepy.

Black people didn't choose to have people treat them like criminals just because they have as mask on. It's a genuine problem. They don't want to get stopped by the cops to who knows what end because some Karen got spooked and called 911.

I think I'm understanding from your post, that you don't think it's dividing the country more!

"Preferential treatment"; BLM's definition of "equality."

Ok so is the counties community organizers and other social activists going to bang the drum about how under served the black community is, if or when the infection rates in that community goes up? I say yes.

Oh, absolutely. They've already said it's the White man's fault the Black community is hit hardest by the Corona virus.

A real problem, although not the only one, is that we are living in an age of self-identified victimhood. Everything that does not meet your definition of perfection is not your fault. It's someone else's fault or some failing of government or due to some form of prejudice or racism. If you dropped out of school in grade 9, it was the teacher's fault for not convincing you that if you wanted to pass, you had to study for your exams. If you became a drug addict, that was society's fault for not making you happy and rich; and so on and so on. It all makes me sick. There has been a general acceptance in some quarters that the obligation of individuals to be responsible for themselves and to overcome adversity is no longer valid.

Oh, yeah. There was a TV Sitcom called "The Fighting FitzGeralds." There was one episode where they were up in arms over some phony Irish restaurant -- somehow, that made them "victims."

I never watched another episode. We Irish are NOT victims. We fight back!
