I'm really getting sick of this crap. They get arrested, spend
a night in jail then go home. Most of the time there are no
charges and when there are, they're dismissed. Meanwhile
stores have been looted and or set on fire leaving owners
with a huge financial loss. Meanwhile the Police ignore the
rioters who are having a grand old time smashing windows
looting and setting fires but will arrest you immediately if
you should so much as brandish a firearm while defending
your property. This is totally arse-upwards and cannot be
doing anything to enhance the police image.
Seems to me, the time to arrest looters is when they are looting,
not weeks later although I suppose, better late than never.
