    Covid-19 Update

Virus has swung to a different set of states, whose politics leave them fewer options for fighting the disease.

In Houston the daily numbers change daily. Since my mayor and country judge started talking about another lock down I wanted to see what they are seeing. So I started logging the positive cases by day off of the county site and now I'm going back to double check and triple check the data and I'm finding the numbers keep moving for the days that I'm looking at. Could be a delay in the time the test results are given to the county but I don't know how one can really base decisions on a moving target. Our mayor is also encouraging everyone to get a test. So far about 10% of those tested are coming back positive.

When Harris County which has a population of 4.1 million shut down a lot of small businesses were shut down but most big one continued to operate be the county directions. For example you couldn't get a hair cut but you could go buy a mattress. The restrictions were absurd.

We also have our share of dumb asses in the major cities. It was estimate a rally to protest the death of Mr Floyd drew 60,000 people. If only half that amount showed up then we will see a huge spike and there wasn't anything the City Government was going to be able to do to prevent the gatherings.

So don't be quick to point fingers because there are many reasons the numbers are going up.

Good posts. Although I'm not sure about the political weight. Even Fauci has said, in over forty yrs. he's never seen anything like this. The graph above makes you wonder. The fact that thousands of people have been to protests but the numbers haven't spiked in relation to. The lower warmer states are on the upswing. One theory is that more people are crowding into buildings with A/C where as(me), protesters are outside. It seems like many people are walking bombs. They are "carriers"(I can't spell asymtomatic)but don't show any symptoms. Hmm, that seems like having a sort of Super Power.

"Dumbassess....60K Floyd rally.... don't be quick to point fingers" is a mixed message.

I didn't point fingers by saying the states with the spike are politically oriented against stern anti-Covid measures. It's a simple fact not an accusation.

Do I think it's a national disgrace? Absolutely.

Are the people in the mobs/protesters/looters going for tests? I doubt it!

As was already posted, evidence so far points to a lower rate of spread for outdoor activities. Indoors in AC is where the risk is now.
