if the feds overstep, the states howl,I'll spare you a long repost on the subject.
We have a Federal system. Some jobs are big enough such that a Federal response is needed. Some jobs best tackled at the state level. Some locally. It has worked out pretty well, overall.
If a job is being tackled at the wrong level, the results might not be so great.
Covid-19 is hardly a triumph of states rights. An expression of states rights, sure. A triumph? Hardly.
if the feds understep, the states howl,
the states shut up generally when the paycheck shows up,
however, some folks still understand that if you want something done locally, you go with the locals, and work up the chain,
Trump is still the President of the UNITED States, not just of togorville,
so the local is where the rubber meets the road,, so to fix an issue, covid, protests, police issues, start there,
having a national dialog is not a bad idea, but having a national law (very broad brush) to fix things will never work,Comment

BLM = Black Tea Party
Same thing."The first gun that was fired at Fort Sumter sounded the death-knell of slavery. They who fired it were the greatest practical abolitionists this nation has produced." ~BG D. UllmanComment

Well one useful thing IMO that comes immediately if Trump loses and Biden wins: Conservative media will immediately raise their expectations for the Federal response to Covid-19, back to Obama-Biden-Ebola levels.
In case people forgot:
I'm okay with expecting government officials at local/state/federal level to be competent at their jobs. Leaders shouldn't hide from high expectations.

I'd have to see the Tea Party body count to agree.Comment
