What I've never been able to understand is, why would anyone REWARD with their money companies subjecting them to this punishment? They teach me which products to despise. I NEVER, & never have, bought any product for which a generic or "store brand" was available; only exception I can think of is beer.

TV ads have been reflecting the 'diversity' of folks for a long time,I can't think of a single TV ad that has influenced mey to spend money. Some are interesting, some are ambulance chasers, some talk faster than I can listen, like my grandkids, some are disgusting, dusting wuwu with baby powder is a long way from cancer site. Wrinkle cream advertised by women that are 30 years from a wrinkle; mute button works just like ignore here.
and they are tailored towards you on some media sites,
yall act like this is new??Comment

It has become much worse. An example are the Cheerio commercials that ALWAYS show a black man and white woman as husband and wife along with at least one zebra kid.
I've noticed what you are saying about the Modelo beer commercials too.Comment

Still have many of my old MAD mags from the 60's. My kids loved them as compared to the later ones.Comment

Lyman, you are the self appointed shot caller and WHO decides what is offensive to your standards and then ."IT'S IN THE RULES!" I have been here 20 years and saw the rules evolve from what Gloria wanted.

Well, I've been here since 1984 (36 yrs) and I've watched technical experience abandon this site beginning not long after the Maj's death. It started with the Maj. and Goria ( the "Swede") and went thru their illnesses, 2 major site hacks, legal fight between them and Mil Surps, home burgulary and finally the Maj's. Ilness and death. There was a legal battle between Gloria and Pat with the result that Pat bought out Gloria. I don't know if the site got to be too much for Pat, or if she got tired of the bickering, or if she found a more lucurative use for her time. The end result was the same, she abandoned moderation of the site. More experience and technical knowhow left the site because of the bickering and personal insults and attacks from people that ignored the site owner's published rules. (Dick and Gloria's only slightly changed by Pat) It got so bad that Pat did change the rule from "the gloves are off" to "it's time to put the gloves back on". That was the last "moderation" I remember from Pat.
Lyman did contact Pat and offer to moderate, and remind all of the forum rules. More than that is not for me to comment.
This site has now become like the occupied zone in Seattle. Go to the forum page and scroll down the last post dates...which ONE is the most current?
The original intent and subjects of the board was primarily military surplus arms and discussions centering around them. I believe the board has been overcome by events; new mil arms, the proliferation of M16 types and their progony. The lack of available mil surplus wooden warriors and increasing price add to scarisity.
This site has become like the occupied zone in Seattle, dominated by the vocal few.Last edited by PWC; 07-01-2020, 02:12.Comment

Similar situation on most other boards such as S&W. Unfortunate, but it's unfortunate we have to watch the country torn apart by violent anarchists, while next to nothing is done to restrain them. Should we hide our heads in the sand, as is done on the dullest & most unresponsive forum I patronize, the Winchester board? Are the "vocal few" somehow inhibiting others from chiming in? I hope not, but what can be done to encourage them?Comment
