Trump could declare tomorrow that the next manned moon landing would be the first, because Apollo was a hoax, and one by one you'd see the faithful start picking that line up, and the so-called "objectively reasonable" people saying things like "well there's evidence both ways".

and the flip side of that is if Trump said that Area 51 did have aliens living in the area, the news crews and politicians would all flock there and write/scream about how they are all locked up, get rid of ICE , no deportations etc etc, and completely miss the point that they are not from this world,,,,
