It would leave the farmers back where they started -- landless.

That's the idea Vern. The Chinese would have it and would send the food home.
You think they care about poor Africans ?

No, but I expect the poor Africans would. And China would have an incipient guerilla war on their hands. Can you think of a nation that would be willing to supply the guerillas with arms and ammunition?

The Chinese don't mess around and guerrilla warfare would be
difficult when all the trees have been cleared for farming.
Remember those Zulus trying to shoot in Zulu ? It would be about the same.
In any case the Chinese would employ the locals to do the hard work.
A paid man is a happy man.

I expect the locals would soon find out the British were better masters than the Chinese will be.

They definitely have a Chinese "Daddy" and appear to be playing fast and loose, Chinese style.

The locals could ask the Tibetans how they like their Chinese masters.

Who would no doubt give the Chinese a glowing reference.

China is surely not looking for food,

likely for mineral and other resources

Have you considered this? If the Democrats take over, they will open our borders and give illegals the right to vote. The Chinese will ship a half-billion Chinese over, who will vote to surrender the US to China, and tehy will own us.
