Trump wanted to SELL Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria

Trump still hasn't learned not say things that can be taken wrong and and.or used against him...

Trump wanted to SELL Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria claims his ex-HS Secretary - and says she was stunned by president's response to crisis which claimed almost 3,000 lives in US territory

The revelation was made by Elaine Duke, who took over the role during John F. Kelly's transition to White House Chief of Staff in 2017

The lifelong Republican added that Trump never seriously discussed selling Puerto Rico after that comment

'The president's initial ideas were more of as a businessman, you know,' she recalled
Duke added: 'Can we outsource the electricity? Can we sell the island? You know, or divest of that asset?'

She said Mick Mulvaney, then the budget director, pushed back at the idea
Mulvaney denied that he made the statements

If his neice is correct, he is learning disabled and has no filter. Less discussed is how people around him more often than not lie to the press and public about the things he says. These are people without Trump's disabilities who lie out of cold calculation. Hell may be building a special--and large--annex just for them.

You're asking me to bring my "A" game to a criticism of Trump? Gladly. Just give me the angle you want me to use. There are so many from which to choose but don't let that stop you.

SELL such a basket case? GIVE it away, if any takers can be found. Maybe China would accept it, which would at least have the great advantage of cutting off the exodus of their excess population to THIS country.

Nobody would buy it. Crime, drugs, and government corruption are rampant and only 10% of the population speaks English. We should convert the whole island to a prison and ship all members of BLM and ANTIFA there.

You want to hear a worse idea: Grant wanted to annex what is now the Dominican Republic.

I read that during the Grant Administration there were proposals to either buy or annex Cuba, resettle all the blacks there, divide into four states. In 1898 as part of the Congressional Resolution that was our Declaration of War against Spain there was the Teller Amendment in which the United States explicitly disclaimed any attempt to annex or exercise sovereignty over Cuba.
