Federal judge blocks lethal injection execution of Daniel Lewis Lee; said it might be painful. He tortured before killing a family of three in 1996. He had no concern for their pain, but the judge doesn't want him to feel any. Maybe if they wait long enough he will be released so he doesn't get the Covid virus.
Does it hurt?

In Korea they have the Ondol, a heating system like the Roman Hypocaust. It burns charcoal, and the smoke and heated gasses are drawn though the house under the floor. It works very well, EXCEPT when there's a leak and it fills the house with Carbon Monoxide. Since soldiers have girlfriends, and like to spend the night at the girlfriend's house, we have classes on what the Ondol can do, and how to check it for safety.
Every year a few people die from a leaky Ondol -- I've seen them. It's a very peaceful death. They just go into a deeper sleep and don't come out.
Why the hell we don't use Carbon Monoxide as a method of execution is beyond me.Comment

I wonder if you actually feel the guillotine. I knew a guy that tried to commit suicide and put a .22 pistol in his mouth and pulled the trigger. He survived (for several years) but his left eye was blind, he was deaf in the left ear and most of the left side of his face was paralyzed. I asked him what it was like. He said "I never even heard the gun go off."Comment

Just another case of the fed judges being on the wrong side and wanting to promote crime (job security for them).Federal judge blocks lethal injection execution of Daniel Lewis Lee; said it might be painful. Most any form of death is painful or at least uncomfortable but if there is so much bleeding heart liberalism let them OD on meth or cocaine.Last edited by Gun Smoke; 07-14-2020, 07:17.Comment

Given that fentanyl and carfentanyl are known to be vastly more deadly than heroin and are causing tens of thousands of apparently painless deaths each year, I have wondered why the authorities don't just use those drugs for executions

Great. Dogtag had mentioned above that the judges verdict had been overturned. I'm amazed they carried on this quickly.
Nitrogen is another "good" way to go. Many die from it performing confined space work such as inside of vessels. They think they are plugged in to tool air but are connected instead to nitrogen (which will operate air tools too). The breathing air is displaced with the exhaust of the air tools which in this case is nitrogen.
Nitrogen is colorless and odorless. The workers get light headed and pass out. If not rescued (which is risky) they simply die of suffocation.Comment

It was tried during the early days of the nazi final solution to the Jews. It took too long for the people to die! Also tried shooting but they needed the ammo in battle. Along came zyclon and the 'shower rooms'.Comment

Yeah, but we're not talking about wholesale killing -- how many people are on death row now?Comment
