The police chief at West Virginia University was forced to apologize after students noticed a “thin blue line” American flag honoring police on display in his home during a Zoom video conference. The chief apologized to the community after acknowledging the “hurt” his flag caused.

According to a report by Campus Reform, West Virginia University Chief W.P. Chedester apologized last week in response to the outrage that erupted after students noticed a “thin blue line” American flag on display in Chedester’s home during a video conference.

Like all those TV hosts & other celebrities who groveled & abased themselves after being accused by a woman of some trivial impropriety, & then STILL lost their jobs! An apology NEVER satisfies those out for your blood, merely incites them to further attacks.

Sounds like he's a real wimp ! The last police officer in my town to die in the line of duty was in 1955 but the cops are wearing black bands on their badges to honor those who have died more recently in other localities.

Well if the Chief has a good job record he may weather the storm. But the Thin Blue Line is still protecting a lot of Derek Chauvins out there, and people know it. Give up the bad cops, before they kill, and people might take notice.

By resisting any kind of police reform, you are playing to the worst offenders in uniform. You've put the police on the front lines of your culture war. You and Trump both. It's a place they don't want to be.

Smart, professional LEOs know the times are changing. They might appreciate your unquestioned sympathy but they would find my pragmatism a better path going forward.

I never said I was against any positive police reform, That is only in your mind ..And I said this before, but from my experience, almost every person I had ever known, or came in contact with that had so much hate for the police probably stems from having had some past personal negative experience involving the police....and not necessary all being on the part of the police..To constant bring up proven negative situations involving the police is just your way of justifying your hate for the police and makes you feel better....And personally... I could give a Sh.t about it...
