Mercedes dealership burned down in Philly by peaceful protestors...

...while police did nothing. Next they went to another Mercedes dealership in a nearby suburb. There they were met by 5 employees standing outside with shotguns. Suddenly they did become peaceful and quickly left. Do you think there might be some kind of moral in this story?

Wait until the employees' houses are raided, their shotguns confiscated, and they are hit with trumped-up criminal charges.

Note these protestors never burn down liquor stores.

Did this happen? Sid posts no link and I can find no reference on the web.

Took ten seconds to find. Mercedes dealership burns. It looks like Oakland. I'm not posting it.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Oakland CA, June 1, is not Philly in July. So what is Sid talking about?

If this act of domestic terrorism had been reported by the major media, as they report EVERY alleged offense against a soul-brother, there'd be no confusion.

There was a lot going on then. It hardly explains Sid confusing the month and coast. And nobody cross checked? Ray is always asking for links. Not this time!

I saw the story about the dealership being burned down and a try to do the same by people at another one, but several armed people prevented that from happening and the burners left. I read it online earlier. I just looked for it again but can't remember what site it was on and can't find it now...I tried Togor...Lol

Mercedes seems to illicit some anger.

An old German white guy and his beautiful wife started the car business. They weren't rich. They were smart but not rich. But Mercedes says rich, thus.

Mercedes powered a lot of WW2 German war vehicles hence the wealth went to the "old man".

ever notice how most 3rd world countries use Mercedes as taxi's, and some Euro and USA customers look at them at top end cars that you gotta have

I lusted after one of the Cosworty 190's back in the 80's,, but could not afford one then

I owned one once. It was junk. Doors were only 2" thick and the door hinges looked like kitchen cabinet hinges.

It had the 2.3 gas engine that only got 16mpg and 80mph top end after all the Bosch conponents were trashed (only went 60mph before).

I bought it used from a realtor that I knew. It only had 50K miles on it which at the time I didn't know was way beyond it's life expectancy. The local dealerships would not take it in on trade nor stock parts for it. They claimed there is no market for a used MB and 5 or 6 engines were used in my particular model so everything had to be ordered with hopes that it would fit.

You hear many tales about how MB are so great but you seldom see one older than a few years old on the road. Where are they?
