Teen MAGA hat wearer sues and wins 250 million...

Good for him. It's about time some of these liberal fake newsers
are forced to put money where their stupid mouths are.

You guys think this is good ? Someone insults the kid because he was insulting someone else and he gets 250 mil... and you think this is good.

How many here thought it was OK was some moron sued Mc'Donalds because he/she burned themself with a hot coffee ? ... raise your hands.

The kid was a punk and played it up because he was on camera ...MAGA hats shouldn't play a part in this .

If that punk though it was a horrible experience to be insulted on social media.... then maybe he shouldn't have put himself in the position .

Are you the same guys that right here on this forum accused the victims of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting of "whining" and being "used as political pawns " ??

I say take that $ 250 mill from that whiny ass punk and distribute it among the past students of Stoneman Douglas who witnessed death and fear of it....they experienced more than most Vets .

This punk faked having his feelings hurt ... shame on you guys for supporting him

You're first premise is a LIE! He insulted no one, & that Indian professional agitator & trouble-maker forced himself among them to disrupt what they were doing; I heard him on TV admit that out of his own mouth!

ANYTHING, by any means, that can be done to punish the lying, Trump-hating national press is a miniscule part of the pay-back owed them.

Likely the settlement much much much much less than $250M, in case anyone has ideas about being humiliated on social media and suing afterwards.

There is no indication of the amount of money that he actually received. Most likely it was a sum large enough to pay the lawyers and just a modest amount more. I suspect that the decision to settle was made on the basis of how much it would cost in legal fees to fight it. In any case, this is a good indication as to why allowing lawyers to take cases on a contingency basis is bad practice. It induces lawyers to take on lawsuits that should not happen, all based on the possibility of getting a share of the spoils and induces people to ask lawyers to take on the case without the individual having anything to lose by doing so

Whole point of my posts here gentlemen was that somehow you were willing to criticize those kids at Stoneham Douglas and accuse them of being political pawns

yet you have no prob with supporting this twerp in getting $250 mill just because he wore a MAGA hat .

Kids who witness death are ridiculed, and smarmy twerps are awarded money with a cheer ....

just having a hard time wrapping my head round that one,,,,

I think such cases should follow the English Rule -- loser pays the winner's costs. And the loser's lawyer pays his share based on the contingency agreement.

I am suing a guy that bulldozed hundreds of trees and brush off his property and put them on my property. He also dozed over a hundred of my trees that were over 30' tall. He said the trees were "shading," his crops. After 18 months and $11,000 out of my pocket we were still not close to a trial. I was suing for of $35,000. Quite by accident I found a different lawyer. He said I should be suing to have the trees removed and my 100 trees replanted. He contacted an expert with a PHD in forestry remediation who agreed to testify what it cost to remove the trees and replant. He took the case on a contingency basis. The new suit is for $2.3 million and my cash outlay is over.

Contingency cases are a God send for poor folks. The guy I'm suing is a multimillionaire that collected over $300k of government farm subsidies last year.
