If you can do your job at home, it must be a crappy kind of job ...

The idea would dictate that it's computer oriented which means
staring into a screen eight hours a day, seven days a week, all
the while being pestered by your youngsters who can't go to
school and your out of work Wife who if like my ex could always
find some inconsequential chore for hubby to do. It's enough to
drive you to drink or to an open window.
When computers began threatening what I used to do, I retired
early rather than submit to what I figured would be Orwellian.

    OK, pre-Boomer.

Taking care of cattle and horses doesn't involve all that much computer time. And the wife and kids can help.

Boomer? I plead ... yes! Teleworking is ... fine! Normally I'd be driving to the office where I'd do my reading, etc., use the computer, etc. The afternoons were reserved for visiting church members in the hospitals, nursing homes, personal care homes, residences, etc. Nowadays, just about impossible to have a face to face conversation much less visit in the hospitals or nursing homes, personal care homes, etc. But, I can use Zoom and Facebook to conduct meetings and make contacts with members, etc. I can do this sitting on the back porch as the sun is coming up. I can do it even as I am right now, sitting in the den with my Mac. It works really well. One does have to have a very focused work ethic otherwise it will not be difficult to be distracted. Sincerely. bruce.

It would take me about 15 seconds to be distracted - then off to
my workroom to build something or to my reloading room.
It wouldn't take long before I was fired.
