WNBA players WALK OUT during national anthem

Is this stuff getting too much in sports or not?

WNBA players WALK OUT during national anthem and wear Black Lives Matter jerseys with Breonna Taylor's name on them for first game of the season between Seattle Storm and New York Liberty

On Saturday, players from the Storm and the Liberty headed for their locker rooms while the national anthem played at the WNBA bubble at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

The walk-off was part of the league's season-long social justice initiative and when they returned to court, they had a 26 second moment of silence in honor o slain black woman Breonna Taylor, 26

Players also wore Black Lives Matter shirts and Taylor's name on their jerseys

Who even watches WNBA? What you typically see is a bunch of tattooed skinny females with werid hair cuts and a lot of mouth .....

    John in SC

Women's basketball is a little freaky.

Not meaning to step on toes because there are probably a few basket ball fans here, but to me watching someone bounce a ball is as entertaining and useful as watching an orange mold.

Bowling, golf and tennis, though it may be interesting for those who are actually playing, who in hell wants to watch them?

That includes those who do not like America's history and want to change it.

It's bad enough we are relaxing our laws to accommodate them. Why? Who needs or wants them in the first place? MAGA.

They keep promising to leave, "If so-and-so is elected" but they never do!

UGLIEST game ever devised; more closely resembles a gang-fight than an athletic event, esp. with all the tattoos & freakish hair; ugh.

I've asked this before, what IS this fascination with watching SOMEBODY ELSE play a game? You want to go skydiving, scuba diving, backpacking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing? I'm your man!

But sit in the stands and watch someone else play? I just don't understand it.

And the most stupid. They all rush down one end and throw the ball in the net,
then they all rush down to other end and throw the ball in the net.
This goes on repeatedly backwards and forwards for however long the match
lasts with scores up in the hundreds.
It's a game played by giants and watched by pygmies

It's the urban mentality. Baseball, I think, is different, though it's hard to explain why; maybe it's the measured pace of the game, though I've been turned of in recent yrs by seeing the dreadlocks & tattoos destroy the "clean cut" image baseball once had.

It's tribal identity. The way you think about election night, some people think about the big game.

And I didn't like football when it was "normal".

..and then someone asks, "what's normal".
