Cuban restaurant owner decries BLM's 'mafia tactics by demands

Cuban restaurant owner in Louisville decries BLM's 'mafia tactics' after receiving a letter with a list of diversity demands that he was told to meet or risk social media shaming, a public boycott or having his storefront 'f***** with'

Dozens of businesses in Louisville, Kentucky, received letters from BLM protesters on July 24

The protesters wrote a list of demands for the businesses that would increase diversity
The list includes ensuring that at least 23% of staff are black and that 23% of the business's inventory comes from black owned retailers

The activists say that the area was unfairly gentrified after the demolition of a housing complex in the 2000s and that it's time to correct an imbalance

Fernando Martinez claims though one protester told him to agree to the demands or risk having his restaurant 'f****d with'

He says while he supports the movement, he won't be told how to run his business

Maybe the people sending the letters might run afoul of racketeering laws.

Is racketeering still a thing? I can barely spell it. I enjoyed the previous posts. CH has the good one. RKT; well, duh. But, you can blame Togor for inciting.
I knew a guy from Cuba. I guess if you've lived under c-mmunist rule you get a little hardened . He hated being told what to do by government officials, but he also hated bullies.
So you get a guy that is a little "American"(I will never say 'murica, man I hate that, if it's a slip of the foreign tongue OK).

Since BLM is an organization cant they just simply be sued for these type of threats? They seem to have a web site, maybe start there.

Sure--if they weren't members of a specially privileged group. Like the vandalism & destruction of public property that is unopposed by LE--YOU try doing the same to something that offends you, if you want to see the difference in "equal justice."

And who would enforce those laws?

I have mentioned this before -- why doesn't some ambitious shyster start a class action lawsuit?

I'll bet if they try it, some liberal judge will dismiss all charges.
