Best guess is the usual reason, that it's bad news for their political camp,
and bad news must be avoided at all costs.
No..Because here's No new news about the virus..

Crime. Covid. One we hear about 24 hrs. a day. The other we have lived with all our lives. Stats: If one person is killed and then at some point two are killed, that's a 100% increase in killings. Take Chicago(please), if 16 people are killed in a month(something I think just happened) and next month 32 people are murdered, that 100%. On the flip side, if only 8 people are murdered next month in CH, crime is falling. In general, the numbers go up and sometimes down. In the neighborhood I live in, one person has been murdered in the thirty yrs. I've lived here. Pretty good. Would I chose to live in Chicago, or anywhere in IL, or Phx.? Heeeell, no. Covid is everywhere and more cops can't do anything about it. Crime is something you can get a handle on in a different fashion. Death by Covid is kind of up there with Death by Meteor(if there was a bad meteor shower as they are called).

You need statistics to prove that. Feeling isnt really realistic.

Which is kind of true. More people means more people in every strata. I think these are absolutely the best times to be alive. Loads of smart, nice people. Although there has to be a relative uptick in A**holes. I am a conservative who will vote(uumm, maybe) Republican because I would like to see all crime stamped out. Will that happen? Nope. Advanced societies deal with crime. But it's complicated. My girlfriend works at a very big box store where they sell cool tools. She learned the hard way early on the job that you don't confront shop lifters. A certain amount of blatant shop lifting is expected and(seemingly) tolerated. "We hang horse thieves". Those days are sadly gone.

Covid is causing far more damage daily than the gang-bangers at their worst, by any measure you can think of. Your house is flooding in a hurricane, so...time to complain about the leaky faucet?

So you don't think gang-bangers are a threat. You are still peddling the lie that the Covid virus would have never gotten to the USA if Hillary had won the election. Wake up idiot, Trump doesn't run the world and the virus is everywhere in every continent except maybe Antartica. It is what it is. It can't be different than what it is. And no, Joe Biden cant make it something else.

In the long run, they'd be ahead if they stopped shoplifting. But they'd need a couple of large dudes to do it.
