So how many African slaves landed in North America?

    A. 30,180,000

    B. 3,180,000

    C. 318,000

    D. 3,180

Ask any Democrat, NAXI, Communist, or Millennial and they pick the 30 million figure.

Ask the right wingers on PBS

    Update:

Apparently PBS has pulled the article. It was written by Henry Louis Gates under the title The AFRICAN AMERICANS, Many Rivers to cross. The real number was 318,000.

According to Time on the Cross, only about 6% of Africans brought across the Atlantic wound up in what is now the United States.

Thanks for sharing. Slaveholders then proceeded to breed slaves to replace those that wore out. Any family men here? Imagine your offspring, sold as property, or your family group split up in a liquidation sale. You go one one way, your woman another, kids a third. Business decision, for the best price. Some black women in these circumstances did not want to become pregnant. Enter the slaveholder rapist who impregnates his female slaves to increase the size of his labor supply. Mary Chesnut wryly wrote of ladies who would notice a family resemblance in slaves at other plantations but fail to see it at their own.

People talk of preserving southern heritage. Okay, fine. But let's preserve the whole picture, so that the cruelty of the system is never forgotten either.

Togor; I'm glad to se that you are in favor of preserving history, and not rewriting it to remove all the warts. We are all products of what we were, but that doesn't mean we have to remain as we were.

Yes, blacks are famously responsible in their breeding behavior.

Here's a relevant post I copied from the S&W forum, where I go to relax after reading Togor's screeds (no Togor's there, check it out!):

"Children raised in fatherless homes, especially black children, are far more likely than children raised in two parent homes to engage in criminal behavior and thus, have contact with police.

Ergo when they father a child with a woman to whom they are not married---or at least living with---they are contributing to the problem against which these football players are taking a knee. If you look at many of these players' records on out-of-wedlock children, you find that they are contributing significantly to the problem against which they are protesting.

          For example,

Antonio Cromartie has 12 children by 9 different women. Apparently the NFL had to shell out $500,000 before he could even play football for them.

Travis Henry has 11 children by 10 women,

Willis McGahee has 9 children by 8 women,

Derrick Thomas has 7 children by 5 different women,

Bennie Blades has 6 children by 6 women,

Ray Lewis has 6 children by 4 women and

Marshall Faulk has 6 children by 3 women.

Adrian Peterson: 11 kids from 7 different women."

Sure don't think those slave owners had much cause to worry over running out of cotton pickers.

The people who liberated the camps in WW2 sent photographers in there precisely to capture a record. Photography was in its infancy in the 1860's, but the society was literate, and those written accounts of the age remain.

CH has zero kids so some jealousy cannot be ruled out. But he has a point, over 300 years of systematic attack on black family structure, 150 years since. That's 4, 5 generations? Might take longer than that. Meanwhile US marriage rates are declining across the board, but significantly among poor whites.

ONLY 4 or 5 gens! Always, ALWAYS, excuses for black failure in a country that millions from all over the globe walk across deserts, cross the ocean in home-made rafts, struggle to reach by whatever means to reach. Al Sharpton & Togor--a matched pair!

How many generations will it take for the poor Appalachians to lift themselves out of poverty? How many centuries of butchery preceded the Magna Carta? Will the Russians ever develop a capacity for self governance that doesn't include looting of the country by the ruling class? Things take time.

One thing this season has accomplished is to scratch awsy the facade and expose your ugly racism for what it is. While unpleasant to behold, challenging it is still preferable to silence!

What it is, is realism! Calling a spade a spade. And how can anyone who always tells it like is have a "façade." So challenge away--as if anybody but you, the pariah on this board, cared.

Well, today according to Seb Gorka and Dennis Prager, only 3% made it here, the rest were unequally divided between the Carribean (spelling is bad), and Brazil, with most going to Brazil. They didn't cite numbers, only the percentage.

So where is the righteousness indignation of BLM towards Spain and Brazil (Portugal)?

Why is it that the new BLM martyar, George Floyd, is not identified as a petty criminal who passed a counterfeit $20 and was caught and arrested, loudly, to create a disturbance to draw a crowd, claiming claustrofobia, that so far as it's not made public, has not been medically proven. Probably will come up in the cop's trial.

However; none of the foregoing is an excuse for what happened to him. BUT, if you commit an illegal act, you can (or at least used to: or should) expect to meet the police. Floyd is the first cause in the chain of events.

And like I've said before: "why do only the blacks make an issue of slavery?" Why do they think they deserve something?

All races have been victims of slavery in the past.

In some countries it still goes on today in the form of human trafficking and child labor.

In the case of George Floyd, Rodney Allen King and others, yes, there's always 2 sides to every thing. All that is exposed is what the news media wants to publicize.

Blacks want to do the crime w/o doing the time.

Instead of living in harmony and trying to be an "equal" many of them insist on portraying themselves as an unwanted, invasive species.

My great grandfathers served in the Union Army. That makes me the 4th generation, and I have granddaughters. There has been plenty of time for "4 or 5 generations."

But in point of fact, Blacks were hard working and had solid families back in the '40s -- all they needed was an end to discrimination. Well, the discrimination HAS ended -- but something else happened, the Great Society, that set them back to square 1.

Because social warriors like Togor never stop telling them that even after 5-6 generations, "it's not your fault," all your misfortunes are due to white oppression, so there's no reason to change your behavior & your culture. Conservative black thinkers like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas have been pointing this out for decades, but of course any black who breaks lock-step with PC liberal orthodoxy is instantly dismissed as an "Uncle Tom."
