It was thanks to "white prvilege" that probably 95% of those KIA in WWII were white. Segregating blacks in service and support units meant that few went " In Harm's Way !"

Actually, the men who fought in Viet Nam were a good cross section of America. About 70% of us were volunteers. The only minority that was over-represented among the casualties was Catholics (who are always over-represented.)
