And where were the police when these old people were attacked? We are now going into the third month of these riots and when are they going to be stopped. The State Police were supposed to put an end to this crap but things just keep getting worse.
Portland still rages. Elderly who try to put out fires sprayed with paint

A bunch of white kids smashing and burning stuff, shouting "Black Lives Matter". Seems like they've co-opted the slogan for their own anarchist purposes. Makes me wonder....who were the parents of these kids? None of mine are going to join a collective anytime soon, have tattoos or weird-ass piercings on their body. -
Yes they have, but if BLM had not been granted immunity from prosecution for criminal behavior by local gov'ts, they wouldn't be doing it. Now, the BLM flag means "you can't be touched." Good thing to consider before rampant lawlessness was allowed to take over the streets.https://www.startribune.com/more-pro...nce/572034142/

Kind of surprising to hear that kind of talk from you, but maybe not. You have kids so I'm sure they have been raised with some good rules of behavior. The governance in Portland seem to be all hippies... or something. I like PBS but they get the blame for some of it from me. There does seem to be something weird about the NW. From SF north. I had a childhood friend whose parents were pretty bad. She started "running around" and finally left and went to Klamath Falls. It just seems to attract losers. It's such a beautiful place, but I will never set foot in OR again. I can't imagine how these politicians could ever expect to get re-elected in a normal state. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

Maybe it's the water. My point is, it isn't just the child anarchists in Portland who seem to flout the law there when it suits them.
The hippies don't have the answer. The "cops must smash" reactionaries don't have the answer. It's the non-extremists in the middle, that extremists hate, who do the best job of holding things together. But we live in an age where politicians cater to the extremes.Last edited by togor; 08-08-2020, 06:22.Comment

Ray says....
The hippies don't have the answer......They have no answers to anything except drugs
Cops must smash"...... No the protests smash..the cops try to keep the protesters from smashing
Reactionaries don't have the answer..... They just react to everything
It's the non-extremists in the middle that extremists hate....And the law abiding people who do the best job of holding things together.
But we live in an age where politicians cater to the extremes....Especially in the democratic cities being burned downLast edited by rayg; 08-08-2020, 07:22.Comment

Ray how many times now have I said: the faction that shows the most restraint will win the season. Contrary to what your media sources want you to believe, the disruption of protests is infinitesimal on the country, say compared to Covid-19. All those cancelled public events...from the uncontrolled virus, not the protests.Comment

Yes but no militia stood up to intimidate their opponents. Meanwhile where are you on those who brazenly defy mask orders? That's law breaking too, right? In the sense that governor's have powers to make reasonable decrees in the name of public health?Comment

So the smartest person on earth thinks that not wearing a mask is worse than burning, robbing rioting and killing people. Where in the Constitution is the rule that allows governors to order everybody to wear cowboy boots, or pink socks, and masks.
Where is the science that proves masks do anything to stop COVID.Comment
