Racial tensions flare up nationwide on sixth anniversary of Michael Brown's death

Chicago's Magnificent Mile was hit by looters after hundreds of demonstrators clashed with police

Also in and Portland and Seattle

Racial tensions flare up nationwide on sixth anniversary of Michael Brown's death as Looting breaks out in Chicago, and BLM clash with Proud Boys in Seattle, cops draw guns on Ferguson protesters - and Portland riots on city's 74th night of unrest

It's unclear what triggered the shooting but earlier in the day, an armed suspect was wounded by police
The man had opened fire on cops and they returned; he was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive

Crowds however gathered in protest after false information spread that the officers shot a child

In Portland, Oregon, a riot was declared as protesters faced off against police for the 74th consecutive night

There was unrest in Seattle, Washington, where BLM activists clashed with Proud Boys counter protesters

All of the violence coincided with the sixth anniversary of the shooting of Michael Brown by police
Brown, 18, was shot and killed in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014 by cop Darren Wilson

There were peaceful protests and memorial services in his honor on Sunday before violence erupted later
