New Instant test for the COVID

Take a shot glass and fill it up with 86 Proof Evan Williams, sniff it, and if you can smell it, your halfway home,

Swish it around in your mouth and swallow. If you can taste it, you are safe.

I will test myself several times tonight.

    No surprise there.

Others use the jellybean test, which is actually a thing:

Hold your nose, put a jellybean in your mouth, start chewing. Should taste sweet. Then unplug your nose. Rest of the flavors (lemon, orange, whatever) should come through. There's your sense of smell. Said to work better if it's a blind test, if you don't know the flavor ahead of time.

If you flunk the test, have other symptoms, maybe get a Covid test, or go hang out with CH.

A friend of mine who runs the local gun shop said he came across a fellow who had tested postitive for COVID-19. His only symptoms were loss of smell. He is over the virus now but has not regained his sense of smell yet.

Meanwhile, I think I'll try that Evan Williams test. Sounds like a smooth bourbon.

        Wild Turkey 101,

tastes just fine, with a splash of branch water

          +1

I add equal amounts of WT and lemon juice (or real lemon brand) to a glass. Add a couple of teaspoons of sugar/spenda/stevia, then top off with crushed ice for a very pleasant whiskey sour.

The 1.75 bottle feels like it weighs around 20 lbs.

Like Jack Daniels too (@ $60 per bottle). Don't know if the WT is even better? Once you mix them with other ingredients it doesn't make much difference to me. I don't like the taste of alcohol and seldom drink but occasionally just like something different than coffee or Coke. Some bottles of various brews last me for many months or years.
