Black Lives Matter.. Monday's looting of stores was a form of reparations

Chicago on edge: Black Lives Matter holds protest in support of looters as Windy City has quiet night following rampage - while Mayor Lightfoot DENIES claims 'lack of consequences' for thieves earlier in the summer encouraged the unrest

Black Lives Matter Chicago said early Monday's looting of stores was a form of 'reparations' as the group held a protest Monday night in support of the more than 100 people arrested after an evening of violence.

At least 13 police officers were injured as the violence claimed an estimated $65 million in property damage.

Black Lives Matter Chicago held a protest Monday night in which they defended looting as a form of 'reparations'

Drawbridges into Chicago were raised Monday night and freeway exits closed as downtown was locked down

Chicago's Magnificent Mile was hit by looters after hundreds of demonstrators clashed with police

People then started organizing on Twitter and Facebook to loot downtown in a caravan of vehicles

The violence coincided with the sixth anniversary of Michael Brown's death in Ferguson, Missouri

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the looting had nothing to do with peaceful protest over police brutality

She denied that the decision not to prosecute looters during George Floyd riots had spurred on looters now

Quotes I read, mayor was pretty pissed by the trashing of Chicago businesses.

I had a kid at school in Pittsburgh for 4 years. So for awhile twice-annual drives through Chicago to get to/from the I90 turnpike. (Yes I did make a few stops at the North Store.)

I told whoever was in the car, "we're down the road by 330 AM", which had us through downtown a little after 6 AM on the skyway, which was the shortest route. Even when traffic is flowing, people drive like fricking idiots! Veering across lanes, weaving in and out of traffic, going 20 mph over traffic speed. It's inevitable that crashes happen. I remember one time, just south of downtown, we got to and through the crash scene just as the cleanup crew arrived, around 615 AM. If we had been 5 minutes later we would have been on the wrong side of the lane closures and stuck there for hours. It cannot be an easy or pleasant place to live.

        Crime is down

So say the stats. The surveys also say Americans have been gaslit into thinking crime is worse than it actually is.

Here's 2.3 billion $ in explicit reparations that's ALREADY been paid out:

May 2012 was the deadline for black farmers to submit claims charging USDA with discrimination under the terms of the Pigford I and II class action lawsuits dating from 1997. But that has not stopped speculation that additional payments could and should be made.
