    Trooper Was Fired For This

Whether one agrees with the firing or not, it's certainly true that southern agencies have less obstacles to firing officers than the unionized forces up north.

You must search and all sites and the net to find some negative thing about cops..As you always post a lot, if not way many, negative posts about cops...Apparently something happened in your past like as arrest or too? lol

Hey I thought I took a non-controversial line of argument here. If you want to get into whether the guy needed to be fired or not, I would say no. A reprimand sure. Firing? For that? I'd say "no". Unless.....the LEO had some stuff in his record, or the kid had parents or an uncle or someone with connections. As for the kid, he had a mouth on him, was being pretty verbally aggressive for someone out there on his own. Had it been one of my kids I would have asked why he was playing with fire like that.

I would say someone had connections, no not a fireable offence.

I don't think unionization has anything to do with it, and if perhaps civilian government agencies-or the military-had Internal Affairs Departments with the power to conduct department trials-and fire people-their efficiency and conduct would be vastly improved.

The Military does have such an organization -- it's called the Inspector General. We also have Criminal Investigation Divisions.
