Government is infested with incompetent people ...

which is exactly why everything they do results in chaos.
I mailed my census form back the day after I received it
which must be around two months ago. This morning a
guy called wanting to know if I'd sent in my census form.
This the third time I've had such a visit. I'm guessing that
others have the same people knocking on their door and
asking the same question which leads me to think the
bureaucrats running this are going to cock it up like they
    do everything else.
I just hope the same people are not going to be involved
in the election. God help us if they are.

Scales falling from your eyes, DT, regarding the level of incompetence Trump has brought to the government? Can it be true? You realize it's deliberate, don't you? California just got a tad smaller.

What those people are doing is drawing a paycheck. If everyone sent in his form, there would be no jobs for them -- so the official position is that few people mailed theirs in.

The "government" is the same jobs-for-life bureaucracy that was there before he took office, the vast majority Dems. Trump can change a few department heads, but the permanent bureaucracy, knowing they can't be fired, or even disciplined if they're minorities, continues to do as they please.

You know Trump is deliberately throwing sand in the Federal gears, and you applaud it. F*cking sh*t up is the one administrative skill that Trump does seem to have. The USPS, the CDC, the FDA, Dept. of Agriculture, the DOD, he won't stop until he's ruined everything.

I* used to have a 78 record that broke, so I threw it out.
Reading your answers brings back the memory of that.
It too had a hole in it.

                    explain the obvious?

know a guy that got hired as a census worker,
he used to work in Cali as a city employee, and talked about what an easy job that was,

told me the census gig was even easier, and the rules were crazy as far as when they can, can't etc do,

and BTW,, Trump has diddly to do with it

Sorry Lyman, but the man was elected because the majority fell for the belief he could fix everything with his advanced negotiating skills and a flourish of his $600 ink pen .

.... after four years I'd say he has "everything " to do with it.

We're talking about government workers here, not politicians.

I recently had a problem with the IRS. They claimed I owed $5000 in taxes on some stock I purchased back in 2016 and charged me fees and interest before even contacting me. I paid the bill to keep them from charging more. Then I proceded to collect my money back sending them the paperwork from Scottrade and Ameritrade.

They disconnected me during one of our phone calls and performed many other unethical business practices. This back and forth BS went on for 2 years. They claimed that since I paid up I obviously owed the money.

I finally "demanded" a face to face sit down aduit at the nearest IRS office. They quickly sent me a check with interest with no cover letter. Just a check in an envelope.

Their precious time wasn't worth the hassle for them to do their job.

Then why do you engage the commie bastard? Let him (them, her) wither on the vine.

Lyman.... you take a deep breath, open those eyes and tell me all about how much better America is right now after four years.... and what are you saying? Trump didn't tell us all how easily and quickly he could fix it all ? .... didn't he brag it could all be done with his superior negotiating skills ? ...{ " Very quickly....very easily " } and that's a quote

At this moment does the United States look like it is under the command of skillful leadership to you? I was Navy and the buck always....always stops at the Captain.
