    Shoot a Black, get a riot ...

Reminds me of the old time funfairs where if you shot the target,
you got a kewpie doll or a goldfish. It seems America is full of
louts who are sitting with their matches just waiting for an excuse
to put those matches to work setting fires and looting shops.
Now that it's the accepted norm it's not going to stop. It matters
not who the black is, murderer, rapist, no matter, he's not to be
shot unless you want a riot. I said it before here that the only way
this cycle will stop is when some of the rioters are shot. Looters
and arsonists should be shot out of hand. So should louts who
shine lasers or attack the Police with intent to maim or kill. It will
have to happen eventually for if the law doesn't do it the citizens
will and that will be very messy.

We could point out to DT that neither George Floyd or the guy in Kenosha was not doing any of those things when the cops shot him, but where's the fun in that? I don't want to live in a country where the citizens are reflexively docile before the police. Anyone here want to argue with me on that point?

Do we want a country where some citizens think they have the right to argue with and fight with the police ?

A couple years ago, here in a small Midwestern town, our only black cop shot and killed an unarmed white woman. The woman was being very vocal when arguing with the cop. Her dog approached, the cop paniked for some reason, drew his service Glock, missed the dog and killed the woman. He is still on the police force. The woman is still dead. BTW, no protests from white people.

It's a balance. There are times when cops are out of line and citizens need to be able to press their cases and get redress. At the same time, the policing function is by its nature coercive. We know there is a shortage of good jobs in these urban areas, has been for a long time. Crime being down for the last few decades may be a result of heavy policing just clamping down. We know that only works for a finite period of time. Eventually pressure builds up, and cracks, or a pandemic, come along. What you're seeing now is people in large numbers saying "f*ck it, the system doesn't work" and cops can't fix that. Don't ask cops to be the solution because they're not. Ray won't give me credit but he should because I just said a very pro-police thing there.

Having worked with the mentally ill for some time clients comprehension is often limited. People of the opposition I give the benefit of the doubt on comprehension.

I'm talking about our country, not this forum, but feel free to leave both.

I'll wager that the worse of the mentally ill you ran across weren't negative on absolutely EVERYTHING like togor.
