Don't forget now the lack of T.P.https://www.vox.com/2018/11/7/180716...term-elections
One of those liberal sites that people here hate, but the observation is fair-- immigration used to try to hype up the base before the election, then *poof!* the subject changes when the votes are in. The hype about anarchists taking over America has the same ring to it.

Saw T.V, reports from several of the cities and business are not rebuilding. Some their insurance will not covering the loss, other's are taking the insurance money and running. Other's said, "Why rebuild?" This is going to hurt the tax base of the cities, especially the downtown. Empty lots for years to come.

Basically, cities like Portland have committed municipal suicide. Of course, all the left wing wackos will flee to and infect other cities.Saw T.V, reports from several of the cities and business are not rebuilding. So between corvid and BLM some cities look like Calcutta(or whatever). Good job. Why should one side of the town look good and the other like ****. BLM feels right at home now. It's a start. If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.Comment

Are illegals a non talking point for the other side? I haven't heard much one way or the other with BLM taking up the available O2.

I read where many of the boutiques and other shops are leaving NYC and other democrat cities and not returning. This is saying basically the same as you posted but some are leaving that haven't been damaged. They don't want to be associated with such a city.Saw T.V, reports from several of the cities and business are not rebuilding. On January 2, 1492, the last Muslim stronghold in Spain, Granada, capitulated. As they were leaving, the Emir of Granada, Bobadil, looked back at his beautiful city and burst into tears.
His mother said, "Do not weep like a woman for what you could not defend like a man."
I say the same to the people of Portland and other cities.Comment

but those cities are now shining examples of the Utopian dream,
diversity, equality, inclusiveness etc etc etc,

Let's do a thought experiment. Don't worry, it's a short one.
A kid grows up in a rural region, tiny school, hardly any kids around. Really out in the middle of farm or ranch country (notice I didn't say "nowhere").
Turns out this kid is wicked smart, reading high school level by age 9 smart, goes on from there.
What his parents going to want for him? Graduate early and work at the grain elevator or cattle yards? They might want him to go to college, grad school, right? Dig into whatever it is that interests him. Thus: he's going to move, go to one of those "sh*thole" cities that his parents are told to hate so much by Limbaugh, Hannity, Trump, etc. Where yes, he'll learn to like Middle Eastern or Peruvian food or whatever. God help him, right?
And his federal taxes from his high income job will be sent back home, in the form of various ag and other subsidies by which the blue regions subsidize the red.Comment

subsidies for what, milk? or Wheat?
not everyone in rural areas in this part of the country owns the farm or dairy,,, and lots have jobs that are not subsidized in any way,

BTW,
would be curious to see the math on that subsidy thing,
what is the percentage of tax dollars subsidizing a farmer or such as you mentions, compared to subsidizing welfare/foodstamps etc, per capita and by region (rural vs city)
include housing etc in those numbers and let us know when you are done,Comment
