Police killed and injured. Businesses flee.

Do an i-net search on this topic. It is shockingly high numbers. And higher each day.

I read that businesses are abandoning down towns and cities, even if they were not targeted. They are leaving and will not be back. City revenue will drop, conditions will worsen. Attitudes on both sides are hardening. Privileged liberals should be frightened, but, they do not live in the affected areas. And, they want those Democrat votes, no matter the cost.

A similar situation is whether to stay in a coastal area which floods or in a flood plain. The sensible solution is to get out. A massive amt of money was spent trying to fortify and rebuild Louisiana. Eventually, the effort will fail.

I understand there's a best-seller in the works, "How to Elect Democrat Officials and Turn Your City into a xxxx Hole."

In some places the policy is called managed retreat. Taxpayer funded resettlements. Climate change.

SX, inner cities are actually profitable places to operate. People there have to eat, live. And that takes money. If they spend everything they have, they still spend it. Some business find ways to operate, despite the extra costs. Chain operations figure it out. Locally owned businesses, it's tough. Some leave, others start in their wake. Capitalism calls this "creative destruction". 2020 is not a good year but it's hardly 1968 out there.

Togor makes good points in his posts above

The obvious points are not the end of the story. Additional, supplementary information is always important.

            Thanks, Togor

I hope Portland goes full Chernobyl.

I'm thinking she already has -- and the same solution should be applied, build a concrete sarcophagus over the site.

Talk about putting a spin on businesses doing great in the inner cities. The fools are joining in while paid protesters burn and loot their businesses.

No spin. The reference is obviously intended and appropriate for more normal times, not these difficult BLM times , and times of rioting and mayhem.
