    Minority requirement for Academy Awards.

Our chief BLM enthusiast will LOVE this! New films must now satisfy a minority quota to be eligible for an AA. Personally, I don't care, because I hold H'wood in profound contempt, & would sooner eat s___ than watch the brainless trash produced in that far-left cesspool. But at least this change makes their leftest agenda even more obvious. The BBC produces far higher quality films than H'wood, but there too a minority quota was established 2 or 3 yrs ago leading to such gross absurdities as minority actors playing characters that were clearly white in the original novels or other works on which the film is based.

Here's what I recommend -- we make a list of races and ethnic origins that have been badly under-represented in films, TV programs and commercials. For example, Inuit, Aleut, Motoloni and so on. And we DEMAND Affirmative Action for the next 20 years, so ALL films, TV programs and commercials will feature ONLY those groups. Any film or program that has someone NOT of those groups will be denounced as racist. Any company that has a commercial with any actors not of those selected groups will be boycotted. No old films can be shown -- unless they're remakes with Inuit, Aleut and Motoloni actors and actresses.

What's an Academy Award? Do I care about them? If so, why?

Do you care about racial "equality"? Should THINK so--you rant about it often enough! Are racial quotas your definition of racial equality?

On the other hand, racial preferences are now acceptable in hiring, admission to college & other programs, so why not H'wood?

Rather amusing that an industry that has always championed freedom of expression is now establishing speech regulations that could have been decreed by Dr. Goebbels.

Not ME! Even TCM has become a bore with PC lectures preceding many films, & minority hosts hired specifically to force-feed viewers the PC propaganda. Epix is a streaming service providing "old movies" without the PC indoctrination, but my favorite is Curiosity Stream. Current or recent H'wood productions? FTS!!!

As I suggested -- Inuits, Aleuts and Motolonies are NEVER shown on TV or movies. Let's have an Affirmative Action program that requires ONLY Inuits, Aleuts and Motolonies in all movies, TV programs and commercials for the next 20 years.

No TV at home in 25 years, go to the movies maybe twice a year, the Oscars are no more relevant to me than say high school basketball in a state 1,000 miles away.
When DC Comics introduced their "Silver Age" revivals in 1959-1960, Green Lantern's sidekick was an Eskimo called Pieface. He was a mechanic.

Academy Awards are like school programs where if you show up and participate you get an award/trophy.

I don’t pay much attention to the Academy Awards since La La Land won in 2016 (a thoroughly awful movie in my opinion). Of course my favorite snub was Shakespeare in Love over Saving Private Ryan in 1998.
