Did somebody say the Military is anti-Trump?

Here's an excerpt from an email I just got:

Did you know that only 7% of overseas military troops voted in 2016?

I’m sure you agree it’s a national tragedy that so few of the brave men and women risking life and limb to defend our God-given, constitutional rights voted last election.

That’s why my team and I developed our unprecedented “2020 American Hero Election Project” to make sure their voices are heard loud and clear this year!

And with your help, our team will succeed in our historic effort to increase the number of voters among troops serving abroad by a whopping 126,000! Our plan is to…
    1. Target 400 American military bases with an unprecedented ad blitz in the widely read, Star and Stripes newspaper, AND

    2. Lob a constant barrage of election messages over popular, on-base radio stations explaining how to apply for an absentee ballot and urging troops to vote.

Oh well everything's different now. Vern got an email!

Actually you have it backwards--Trump is anti-military. He doesn't trust them because their loyalty is to the Constitution not the President.

Also concepts like honor and integrity in uniform defy his transactional approach to relationships.

My son didn't vote the last election because it was too much of a pain in the ass to vote absentee. He was stationed in Wa., and a Texas resident. I'm betting others have had the same experience.

And why would the Trump campaign want to change that if they thought the troops would vote against them?

They don't, actually. Another one of those disconnects for which this administration is notorious.

Trump is trying to end stuff , not promote it,

that has the warhawk parties (both D and R) with their knickers all twisted,

I chatted with a friend yesterday that is stationed as a contractor at Kandahar Asscanistan, and he says they are busy as can be packing the place up ,

                  as in closing,

                  that is a good thing,

Reminds one of what President Eisenhower said as he was leaving office. Good advice 60 years ago and still applicable today.
