Disparity in white and black treatment by legal system

article at theroot.com. "A judge asked Harvard" by michael harriot

Question asked was why in massachusetts are so many blacks in prison, bad legal outcomes etc etc. Answer was racism, profiling, singling blacks out, giving harsher sentences and outcomes than whites received.....

Theroot.com is black org or news outlet.

So, make of it what you will. This is all pre BLM. They analyzed 1 million cases. I would expect that there is a disparity in the treatment of blacks and whites. Black and white, we are talking of those caught up in the legal system. If poor and at the bottom, then white or black, expect to be treated harshly.

I have little experience or knowledge of these matters. I have heard and read accounts. Prosecutors seem to be interested in their win record and the legal system in dollars.

In the future , I will assign my posts to the proper section. I started to think in terms of 2nd Amendment and not Politics as well. Point taken. If the moderator wishes and can, he can move the posts as I don't think I have the tools to move.

No axe to grind...you think? People who can't afford good lawyers are always at a disadvantage compared to those who can. Is that "news"?

No, it is not "news" for some. Others might say it is not true or not pervasive. They analyzed it and totted up the numbers and said this is not guess work, not a maybe, we have proof. Proof that blacks in the legal system are victims of racism, profiling, harsher legal outcomes.....because they are black.

The author and the analytical study are not automatically tools of theroot.com. The article certainly substantiates what the root.com believes. So, certainly, they will publish it, as they should.

Nor even the common sense to look into the background of the person whose screed you are promoting.

What are you talking about??? He WORKS for this left-wing website! Or maybe he started it!

Good God, talk about drinking the Kool-Aid (as Trump said about that far-left POS Woodward), you certainly bellied up to the bar!

What's next on your reading list..."White Privilege," by Al Sharpton?

Just the part about leaving politics out of the cracker barrel. This is one of the most admirable websites. Look back in a few years, I hope it's as admirable.
