A Cop is charged with assault after bodycam footage caught him ordering K-9 to attack black man who was on his knees with his hands in the air in his back yard

Prosecutors announced Wednesday that charges had been brought against Salt Lake City Police officer Nickolas Pearce

Pearce ordered a K-9 to attack Jeffery Ryans, 36, during an arrest on April 24 when he
was complying with cops - knelt on the ground with his hands in the air

Shocking bodycam footage shows Pearce telling the dog to attack then repeatedly praising it as a 'good boy' while it latched onto Ryans' left leg

Ryans is heard begging the cop to make it 'stop' in the footage

Ryans suffered nerve and tendon damage and infections that could lead to his leg being amputated

An investigation was only launched in August - four months after the attack - when Ryans broke his silence over the incident and footage was released

Protests continue to build across America calling for an end to racism and police brutality after multiple cop killings of black men and women in recent months

Well it was one of those cases where different cops are giving the guy conflicting information. He's listening to some, and then this guy has his dog bite him. The LEO deserves to be charged, but cops also need to coordinate better. (Oh and I knew about this one but decided not to post about it and listen to your complaints that I did.)

There is a vid out there from Texas where there was a standoff in a front yard. A guy rolled a stop sign and pulled into his grandmother's driveway. At first he doesn't want to get out of his car, eventually does, and decides to just lay flat on the ground, screaming "don't shoot". Other cops are yelling at him to get up and walk towards them. Terrible advice! Grandma comes out to interject. She gets arrested too, but at least her grandson doesn't get shot.

When cops are not on the same page with each other, it's a bad deal for the civilians.

Had I posted it you would have reflexively claimed I was making an anti-police post by posting a story about how a cop apparently screwed up. His defense seems to be that he was shouting something different than the other cops and because the guy listened to those other cops, he got the green light to turn his dog loose. I mean, come on already.
