Trump only uses teleprompters when he's desperate to sound "normal", reading copy that other people wrote. And notice when he does that, it's pretty simple stuff because his reading level is pretty low, as is his enthusiasm. When he's free-associating, he sounds like Trump, which for him is way more fun.

Biden by contrast can sound normal without a teleprompter.
