Marshall University placed Assistant Professor Jennifer Mosher on administrative leave on Friday

Mosher reportedly said during a virtual class that she hoped supporters of President Trump would catch COVID-19 and die before election day

She appeared to reference a recent campaign rally where attendees did not wear face masks and flouted CDC recommendations

Marshall University said an investigation was opened into the matter
