No mainstream reporter will ever bring this statement up to his face. Like every other idiotic thing he says--"Trump is responsible for 200,00 deaths"--the media will see that it's buried.

Yes they wanted a vote for Garland in 2016, with 11 months or so before the election. And they don't understand why that was then, and this is now. They've concluded that to the GOP, rules are for suckers and losers, unless those rules benefit the GOP. Their base is now demanding a similar no-prisoners approach to politics. The next time the Democrats get the Senate, the filibuster is history.

As Biden said.. Should not be done in an election year... Course that's now when the repubs want to appoint a judge.. Back then when the Dems wanted to it, that was okay...

President Barack Obama pushed HARD for the Senate to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court. He pushed the issue especially hard right before the 2016 election. These are just some of the tweets he continually put out during that timeframe (but you get the idea):

Enough of the shameless partisanship, Senators. #DoYourJob and fill the Supreme Court vacancy. pic.twitter.com/vIQY0bivo4

              Re: Dates

It's a game of musical chairs. If the music stops, you get to fill it or you don't. I don't think either side can cry foul over dirty politics. The presumption by too many is that Trump's possible second term will get decided by SCOTUS. I'm not optimistic that it will be needed.

"Presidents have a right to nominate, just as the Senate has its constitutional right to provide or withhold consent," the Kentucky Republican said. "In this case, the Senate will withhold it." -Mitch McConnell. Feb 23, 2016

"On July 20, Garland broke the 100-year-old record of 125 days for the longest gap between a Supreme Court nomination and confirmation."
