And people complain about the police...Keep in mind this is only in one city.

Story seamlessly conflates protests and looting. Stats can mean anything someone wants. In the event, the cited injuries represent 20% of the 2020 excess to date, and 6% of the 2020 total. So a challenging year for the NYPD, but not an order of magnitude or anything close to it. Propaganda.

Your post just shows that you are so anti police that you don't care if officers get injured.. Simple as that..

What....that cops are injured? Of course they are. We already knew that.

People are protesting excessive police violence against the public. Because there is apparently a lot of it, and it has been going on for a long time, there's a backlog of unburned fuel. Similar to how sunsets these days are hazy yellow from all of the smoke being blown west to east, because there is a huge backlog of tinder.

So those protests are pretty large, and probably related to the pandemic, some riots and looting happen on the edge. And as it has been shown a good chunk not related to BLM at all just opportunistic.

So then cops mix it up.

One COULD say that if the cops had been showing proper restraint all along there wouldn't be these large scale protests.

This does not excuse the riots, but puts the in their rightful place as the inevitable result of failure to control excessive police violence (primarily because of police unions) and failure to keep covid-19 out of the country like Trump said he had done, multiple times.

Just defending the riots.. and of course to put the blame the cops not the rioters. And voiding how many cops were injured and not rioters...

It's not defending the riots to understand how they come into being.

Like it or not, there's a huge backlog of frustration out there with regards to excessive police violence against the population they're supposed to protect and serve. And expression of that frustration, combined with the pandemic, creates opportunities for riots and looting. Your solution is what? Get a better public? One more convenient to the police?

Again massaging any violence by "police" and continuing the promote the Burn-Loot-Murder "victims". Togey NEEDS the violence of any kind to promote his ideation of his mental illness of superiority.

"Proper restraint"? Cops doing nothing to prevent destruction of private property & public monuments is the reason these riots--not "protests"--continue.

I meant in the first place. Even you admit sometimes the force used by police at the get-go is excessive. With riots, police options become limited, but seeing a riot in every street protest is a compounding mistake.

Interfering with the rights of people merely trying to get to their work, home, etc. is an illegal restraint on their freedom of movement & therefor the equivalent of a riot.
