    In An Odd Turn...

    https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/25/u...gtype=Homepage

A Republican lawyer is complaining about fairness, in that blue dots have been applying for and receiving private grants to help with extraordinary expenses associated with running polling places in a pandemic. Recall that Pelosi wanted federal funds for this, to which Trump and McConnell said "pfui!", so others have stepped into the breach. The blue dots are determined to vote, as much as the GOP is determined to stop them. In any case, "fairness" is one of those "spirit of the game" concepts in which Republicans do not believe. If the law doesn't expressly forbid it, then it's fair game in the GOP rulebook. Unless of course that strategy works against them.

Just a story of one battle playing out on an epic landscape. But like I said "fairness" is usually not a conservative complaint.

Re: Fairness. It is a weapon. It is used. The demokrats weaponize fairness as a means to try to advance the nose of their social/political agenda into the tent. No reason the Conservatives and Republicans should let such a weapon gather dust, so they use it. Of course it must be said, the demokrats and the msm together use fairness as a means by which to try to muzzle free speech ... political and general. JMHO. Sincerely. bruce.

The difference being one side sees fairness as a principle and the other as a weapon of convenience.

Good God, shows what you know about BOTH fairness & conservatism! Conservatives have been pointing out the flagrant UNfairness of libera US journalism & news reporting for 40 yrs.! Except that 40 yrs. ago, news reporters made a phony effort at "pretending" to exercise objectivity, whereas now their consuming hatred of Trump has washed away even the PRETENSE of fairness!
