Man attacked a desk officer who was on duty at the station just after 10pm and
Video shows man knocking desk officer to the ground and taking his handgun

Man aims gun at officer's chest and throat and 'repeatedly pulls trigger'
But the gun did not fire due to a safety mechanism that was activated

Video shows the assailant pistol-whipping the officer before fleeing

A watch commander than appears, but assailant allegedly fired shots at her
Police identified suspect as 29-year-old Jose Cerpa Guzman

Guzman, charged with attempted murder of policeman, held on $2.2million bail
