Many passenger liners are stripped for scrap due to the virus..

The covid cruise ship graveyard: Passenger liners are stripped for scrap at Turkish dock after the multi-billion pound industry was smashed by the coronavirus crisis

Carnival Corporation's CEO Arnold Donald revealed that it would remove 13 ships from its fleets in 2020.

Cruise ships were home to the some of the earliest clusters of COVID-19 as it spread around the world

US authorities have issued a no-sail order on cruises and the multi-billion pound industry has been hammered

But business is booming for a ship scrapyard in Turkey which has welcomed five colossal cruise ships

One of the ships, the Carnival Fantasy operated by Carnival Cruise Line, had only just been refurbished last year

On Friday, workers were seen taking apart the vessels, some with their pools and mini golf course still visible

The world needs fewer of those floating septic tanks that serve no useful purpose whatsoever.

          Things I have never done:

Eaten a fistful of live bugs

          Tried heroin or cocaine

Jumped into the middle of a bullfight

          Attended a beauty pageant

Gouged out my own or anyone else's eyeballs with a spoon

          Gone on a cruise

I have been on about ten cruises including cruises in the Orient, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Baltic. Cruising is something that you either love or hate. If you are claustrophobic, it is not for you but if you like a lazy, mindless vacation they are a great way to go. The advantages are that you only unpack once; on occasions you can book a cruise at a very low price; you have stewards who clean your room and make your bed; you get to visit new places every day; you can stay aboard or go on shore excursions; the food varies from good to extremely good depending on the line; you don't have to worry about navigating; there is normally good to great entertainment; on most ships there are a large number of restaurants of varying kinds and in many ships at least one of them is open 24-7. The downsides are that they can be expensive depending on the line and the itinerary; it is very very easy to gain weight; most ships only spend one day in a given port so your visit is somewhat superficial; if you drink a lot you can get a huge bar bill at the end of the trip and finally, as we all discovered, they can be an incubator for infectious disease.

I've been on three .... came to the United States as a boy on the original Cunard Lines Queen Elizabeth I ... sailed right past the Statue of Liberty and still remember the sight to this day.

Flew back to point of origin on a Constellation and came back to the USA on the famous Cunard Lines ship the Queen Mary. both vessels had a useful purpose at that time .

My last cruise was on a US Aircraft Carrier and that was the end of any interest in vessel borne vacations for me .....

Had a friend of mine do his first cruise in 1965, a senior trip by the USMC to a place called Danang. He said the food and travel accommodations were not as he had been promised in the brochure or his travel agent.

The scrapping of old cruise ships has been going on for years. The cruise lines are getting rid of costs and excess inventory as they try to survive the shut downs. The cruising public want bigger and better ships to sail and the ones going to the bone yard aren't what the paying customers are looking for. I'm a cruiser. My wife and I have been on 12 cruises. Last year we cruised Alaska and were going back this year until the Chinese Bio Attack hit us. Can the industry survive, probably only with a vaccine. I know of a lot of people who are ready to sail but I'm not flying or getting on a ship until this virus is under control.

                      It's a Chinese bio attack?

If true then everyone should be doing everything in their power to stop it.

Not bitching about their loss of freedom.

                      So, mixed message there.

I have zero proof just a gut feeling that the virus was a Bio Attack. I'm not the only one who thinks that. That being said a national leader isn't going to get on the TV and say it was an attack even if they had the proof.

They may have INTENDED to produce a bio-weapon, but if they did it backfired.

Yep, backed by U.S. $ thanks to obama. Here's a small portion of the links again.

Oh, yes. The United States has nothing to thank Obama for.

But whatever the Chinese's intentions were for the future, this was not a deliberate biological attack.
