Trump to protect Americans from Congress’s job-outsourcing program

Trump plans to protect Americans from Congress’s job-outsourcing program

President Donald Trump’s regulations to protect Americans from Congress’s huge H-1B job-outsourcing program are flying through the regulatory process, a top official told Breitbart News.

A growing number of visa workers have been imported since 1990 to take the jobs needed by U.S. graduates, via the various H-1B, L-1, J-1, and other worker pipelines
    .
Most foreign workers were imported for short-term training or lower-tier and routine software jobs. But an increasing number are being imported for coastal jobs in science, health care, management, accounting, recruiting, marketing, and other white-collar jobs.

The foreign graduates accepted the lower-wage job offers from many Fortune 500 companies in expectation of getting green cards from the employers.

Most of the imported workers are Indians because India’s government works with U.S. investors to exploit the huge wage difference between the United States and India.

There's a ton wrong with that piece.

Right now the trend is for US companies to play the opposite game--outsource basic coding to foreign contractors that can be located anywhere there's electricity and the internet. These people have no job protections to speak of, and keylogger software etc. monitors their productivity. And they're dirt cheap because locally there's nothing.

But some US companies actually want to have people working here in the US, paying US taxes, buying goods and services locally in the US economy. So those companies are penalized by the Trump administration, because Indians have more drive and energy to get up in the morning and learn a skill that is in demand. It's not like Arkansas or South Dakota schools are producing one bumper crop after another of kids eager and qualified to move to the coasts and work in tech.

Do the imports drive down wages? Some would argue yes, but if the alternative is that US companies just set up software operations overseas, reducing demand for software engineers in the US, then the answer is no.

I told all my kids, at some point in your life you need to be prepared to compete against hungry and motivated millions from India or China because that's how the world is. Mostly they seem to have listened.

He disapproves of anything Trump does -- it's a knee-jerk reaction.

Hiring foreigners to work HERE is not job outsourcing, for one thing. And is arguably better than hiring them to work in some other country yes? Now maybe tweaking H1-B visa quotas will cause companies to hold out a bit longer until that perfect native born American is walking in the door, but if the industry is growing, in the history of our country, labor is imported to fill the need. That was true when Africans were tilling fields and Chinese were laying track.

Does no one remember how many Dominicans were given visas to work at Mar a Lago ?

For years, President Donald Trump has insisted it’s impossible to find Americans to fill seasonal jobs at his hotels, resorts, and wineries, leaving him no choice but to hire foreign guest workers instead.

“You can’t get help,” he has said..... as a small time employer all I can say is...." No Chit"

In 2019 Mar a Lago accepted applications from 60 U.S. citizens.... and hired one . All other positions were filled by foreign "guest workers "

            hmmph ...who knew?

Togey is against anyone working except foreigners...his Hattian relatives. Togey it appears collects benefits as well for not working. @ least we retired folks paid into the system unlike our three.
