BLM protesters cause 'tens of thousands of dollars in damage' in LA after tearing down barriers outside police HQ, smashing store windows, burning a US flag and spray-painting 'kill more cops' on a wall

Dozens of demonstrators marched on the LAPD building on Main and First streets at 9:40pm on Monday night

The protests turned violent, according to LAPD, with windows shattered, doors kicked-in and ATMs damaged

Demonstrators were also videoed burning an American flag near LAPD headquarters
The message 'kill more cops' was also spray painted on a nearby wall, footage captured at the scene showed

The unrest was thought to have been caused by the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Jonathan Price, an unarmed black man killed in East Texas on Saturday after he reportedly tried to break up a fight inside a gas station
