He was awaiting trial for allegedly making threats, but this had been delayed repeatedly because of the coronavirus pandemic. He pleaded guilty to robbery, assault and possessing an instrument of crime in 2017 after kicking down a woman's door and putting a gun to her head, Philadelphia's ABC affiliate WPVI reports. He was sentenced to 11-23 months behind bars, with a judge requiring mental health supervision."

"Those in need" are violent criminals like Wallace & Floyd, according to Hiden, Kamala, & Togor. The cops who killed them undoubtedly saved others from injury or death.

the host of the show (local) commented, that with all the attention in the news of late about health care, mental health care, defund the police, sending mental health/social workers out for these type calls ,(where the caller, the mother, knew the guy had mental health issues)
why did the mother call the police,

they is likely no way the mother had not head anything since the spring about the protests etc over similar incidents, and yet she called the police instead of the hospital, social worker, or his doctor,

Having been there with the violent mentally ill rule #1 is to protect yourself. When I meet with "them" I ALWAYS planned a way out...just in case. Part of our yearly "training" was on self defense and de-escalation of the situation. De-escalation does not always work so one has to defend self.

I had heard they called paramedics. When that happens the police show up too. Standard first responder protocol.
