New Orleans cop shot the face while sitting in the sqd 2nd officer injured

New Orleans cop is shot in the face after two officers are ambushed in their squad car by a man in a pedicab in the French Quarter

Two New Orleans police officers were ambushed and shot at by a man in a pedicab on Friday

The officer and his partner were in their marked cruiser doing a routine patrol

One of the officers, a four-year veteran of the force, was shot in the face, under his left eye, during the incident and is in serious, but stable condition, with the bullet is lodged in his skull

A second officer, a 16-year veteran, received minor arm wounds caused by flying glass shards

The alleged shooter fired multiple shot at the police car before fleeing the scene
Authorities were able to take the alleged shooter into custody on a nearby street

Fortunately bad guys tend to be rotten shots, and, equally fortunately for their victims who are hit, use cheap ammunition.

Folks who don't want the police are getting really close to their goal. If major cities continue to be run by a bunch of hippies, the police will be around, though in greatly reduced numbers and are going to be increasingly reluctant to do their jobs in a pro-active manner. So be prepared.

If you don't have a concealed handgun license, GET one. If you have one and don't carry ALL the time, START.
