A lot of us did. He was a democrat and a POS. He was also the lesser of the 2 evils. That's the way it goes. In the end you end up with 2 candidates, not necessarily who you want but still you end up with just 2. We try to chose the best of the 2. If he ran again I would vote for him again over obama even though he is dead.

The only plus side to his run was Sarah Palin.

Why are you bringing this up?

But of course I voted for him too--not proud, but what was the alternative?

But I AM proud to say I voted for George Wallace!

I knew McCain was a loser from the git go! His imprisonment in N. Vietnam happened because he disobeyed orders during his flight!

Not sure why John McCains name comes up now but I can't help but look at the comments his name brings out.

The only plus side to his running for Pres was Sarah Pailin ???? you mean the woman who quit a very important job as Governor of her state ... to take a position as a "reality" TV star ? the same woman we all wanted as vice Pres because of her most redeeming credentials..... she killed a moose ?

His military career was insignificant claims Clinton Hater ..... really ? In a place like Culvers he can make such a statement with out being called out ?

I was totally unaware that "any " Veterans military career was "insignificant" . Certainly not as insignificant as a paid for Bone Spur in my mind .

And lastly.... he was imprisoned in Nth. Vietnam because he disobeyed orders ...... maybe so... but he was "effing" there because A Holes like you thought he should be killing commies....

His Daddy didn't buy him a bone spur and whether or not he made a mistake he paid five effing years in hell for us..... while "Commander in Bankruptcy" stayed home and got rich .

shame on all you "fellow" veterans who denigrate what he went through in order to feel good about honoring .... a bone spur

You need to read up on John McCain instead of just jumping in to defend him (or anyone) who is a liberal.

We know all about him w/o your input.

I said the national MEDIA never considered his record significant, never raved him up as a great military hero, when he was running against Obammy. Only AFTER he revealed his hatred of Trump, then, suddenly, he was "America's Greatest Living Hero."

After mentioning the media saying his military career was insignificant did you not say ... "(Which they were absolutely right about!)" ... go back and read your own post

I spent my time on an Aircraft Carrier that put men like John McCain in the air ... I don't need to read up on John McCain ... you do.

Then you should be in a position to explain what WAS sigificant about his career...aside from having an Admiral as a father. Getting shot down? Hundreds of others did, most of them without violating flight protocol.

If he were still in the Senate, he would CERTAINLY have voted against Amy Barret. Not because he thought she was unqualified, but to spite Trump.

Well as I Am in a position to explain what WAS significant about his career then here it is ..... his father was an Admiral and John McCain could have had any position he wanted ....

yet he flew combat missions .... what could possibly be more significant than that ?

I'll stand with Trump when he accuses McCain of being a war mongering politician .

But the "bone spur" loses my respect when he denigrates the service of any one who did their time . And I have no respect for any veteran who will back a bone spur over a Brother ....

.... whatever that Brothers politics might be

Including Sgt. Bergdahl? How about Pvt. Manning?

Anyway, though McCain is no longer around to attack Trump, Cindy has stepped heroically into his place, becoming a new Media Darling on the afternoon TV talk shows.

Not sure why you would place McCain in the same sentence with Bergdahl or Manning.... other than you are grasping for a reason to denigrate a real veteran and defend a paid for bone spur.
