His behavior reminds me of a Sundowner. Thirty-five to forty percent of the people who have Alzheimer's undergo a daily personality change. They become loud and angry. It'll get worse as time goes on.

Well, Alzheimer's is a form of dementia. Alzheimer's can only be diagnosed definitively with an autopsy. But old Joe's behavior is clearly abnormal and typical of dementia patients.
