Still at it! ..The need to riot and cause trouble must be in their genes ...

Anti-Trump protesters clash with NYPD in Manhattan's Greenwich Village as National Guard is activated in Portland and LAPD declares 'tactical alert' for second night in a row - as election result hangs in the balance

Election protests erupted across the country on Wednesday after Trump falsely claimed victory and called for voting to stop amid a cliffhanger presidential race

In New York City, demonstrators marched down Manhattan's Fifth Avenue as they called for every vote to be counted

The rallies took a violent turn as night fell after protesters' rallying cries devolved into anti-police rhetoric and some groups began setting fires and hurling garbage in the streets

More than 50 people were arrested for 'hijacking' the peaceful protests, police said on Wednesday and Similar 'Protect the Results' rallies unfolded in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Michigan and Washington

Meanwhile in Portland, authorities declared a riot in the city after protesters were seen smashing windows at businesses during a demonstration against Trump's court challenges to stop the vote count

Makes you wonder what "moderate liberals" think. Perhaps, the cost of doing business. The end justifies the means. Other people will suffer , but not me.

The 51 % rule the 49 %. Whether , the 49 % is dem or repub, this does not go over well. The victors seem always to try to stick it to the losers.

Liberals vs conservatives. Urban cities vs less densely populated areas. Liberal states vs conservative states.

It seems impossible to get along and impossible to separate the factions.

Edit: Puerto Rico has voted 52 to 48 in favor of becoming a usa state. This does not mean they will. Not an overwhelming mandate. Brexit vote was not overwhelming either. Losers in these cases can become "reluctant" and "difficult" and for good reason.

Edit: Internet search shows many threads on Confederates and was secession legal or not.

It would be hard to wall off cities and states. Division of the factions would be difficult. Look at germany, korea, vietnam. If a city or state fails, population would flood into the state doing well demanding welfare. Anyway, seems like a tough problem.

The last thing we need is Puerto Rico (or DC) to become a state.

If Puerto Rico becomes a state, the Democrats will vote to bail them out -- and can California be far behind?

This country is so divided politically & culturally, that it should be divided geographically--everybody would be happier EXCEPT those obsessed with the mania for control & subjugation--guess which party that is? When that party demagogues about "bringing the country together," the LAST thing they mean is compromising with their enemies (us)--unless you think that Pelosi's refusal to budge an inch on a new Kung Flu bailout package is a good example of compromise.

What they mean by "bringing the country together" is forcing their radical ideology down the throats of all who disagree--half the country! The lying libs who bragged they'd move to Canada if Trump won had an excellent alternative to staying here, a lib's paradise unrestricted by a 2A, that we (excluding the 3 or 4 left-wingers who poison this forum) don't have!

                Secede where?
Almost 50% of Puerto Ricans voted NOT to become a state? Whaaa? I'm a little insulted.

I don't. The 13 Colonies "seceded" from the British Empire. Even countries as small as Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Serbia, Sudan have in recent yrs subdivided their territories in order to separate groups that didn't want to live together. Why should this country be different? If the Southern states had been allowed to go their way peaceably, the population would gradually have redistributed itself along political & cultural lines, & everyone would be better off.

They should be given INDEPENDENCE, not Statehood, which is a transparent ploy to give the Dems control of the Senate.

The Irish and Scottish "just want to be me". The UK doesn't want to be part of the EU. The nice part of the what used to be called the Soviet Union wants to be sovereign. How's "east" Germany doing these days? Hope they are getting along. Maybe west Germany will secede.
