    Lyman, I guess I don't understand

I was under the impression the Second Amendment and Politics forum was a no bar, say how you feel forum and if you can't take it then you need to stay out. Now you are telling us we have to be polite when the left agitators pounce and I do mean pounce all over everything we say that is conservative or favorable to President Trump.
Nearly every post on SA&P is taken over by these four clowns and what they post is intended to agitate us. Talk about something that will kill a forum fast is when you can't defend your own beliefs against these people with left agendas.
I have these bass clowns on ignore status but since everyone doesn't do that then a thread is quickly knocked off track and ends up being taken over by the clowns.
So instead of telling us how to act why don't you change the website to allow us to block these clowns from answering our threads if we choose so?

    Sako,

I don't tell you how to act, I just moderate, as in go by the rules,
and I will tell anyone if they are out of line, ,

I don't set those rules, Sysad and JeffL did, (and they are posted on the top)

there are actually 6 (3 on each side) that have basically run this forum in the ground,
simply because they were allowed to run as they see fit, vs any controls by management, they ran a good number of folks off,
this has been discussed quite a bit over the past few years,

the forum is showing that has been improving (going by the stats at the bottom of the main page) in attendance
but there is a lot of work to be done,

and sadly, 3 have been very good at walking the fine line on staying in the lanes , so to speak, on rules, whilst the others explode and violate all of them,

I could give you names if you like, (and you are not one of them)

as far as no bar, how you feel, read the forum descriptoin, that was set by Pat (sysad) and only she can change that,
she did change it to this a while back,

    Second Amendment and Politics(22 Viewing)
Time to put the gloves back on and keep it civil. Argue points, not personalities.

question is, can you, or anyone else, actually stand up to them and push back, and stay in the rules?

remember, this is a public forum, so it can be viewed by anyone,

one thing I have thought of trying, since I was given some updated mod abilities, is taking this section to a password protected section

, that may shield the rest of the forum, as well as visitors, from any posts here,

but it will be time consuming to maintain a list of those with the password etc etc,

Sako... have you ever been banned by this forum ? Well Sir I have for no more reason than people objected to my view point.

At the time I was banned , so was Togor..... all the while Red kept spewing his antagonistic hatred .

It's common knowledge Sako that the gloves are back on because .... some people are offended .... and it ain't the Stooges

The members who have paid to keep the forum on-line ought to be the ones writing the rules.

If participation has dwindled, it was AFTER members were told to put the gloves back on.

Do what I do -- put them on "Ignore." Every time you respond to one of their posts you are only feeding the trolls.

And as a bonus, it drives them up the wall. They know I ignore them, but they CAN'T ignore me. It warms the cockles of my heart to know that as you are reading this, one or two of them are reading it, too. And grinding their teeth with steam coming out their ears.

I mailed my contribution this week.

Not just the gloves, but also they put the kibosh on overt racist stuff, right after the 2016 election when folks thought they were having a moment or something. That may have taken the fun out of it in some corners.

Or people just pass, their time comes.

Along with the honesty. Straight talk, no BS, was what Culver's used to be ALL about.

I don't have anyone on "Ignore" although there are a couple I do not read.
I scroll past Roadtrax because early on his stuff proved to be childish.
Pebbles I sometimes read but I never reply.
Togor is fine as he presents arguable points which is the raison d'etre of this forum.

You put people on ignore because you didn't know what the Purple Heart award qualifications were.

                    I'd be embarrassed too.

I've been a member since '84 eventhough the records only go back to '09 because of 2 data breaches and maxing out fouum bandwidth causing data purge.

Once the "squad" took over this forum, and it became the dominant one on the site, old members (read experienced) began leaving. It infected the whole site. Look on Master Po's site....all those people were regulars here on this site. In fact, it was built as an adjunct to Culiver's/Jouster. Some may have died, but most have not.

Active as in still taking posts, I don't know, but I viewed it a couple months ago. I'm out and about now, but I'll check on my desktop when I get home.
