Is there any point in a GOP candidate running in 2024 ? ...

If the democrats managed to cheat their way into the Presidency
in 2020 while the GOP were in charge, then what chance would
there be for the GOP to win it back in 2024 ? If the democrat
cheating machine was able to succeed then, I think It's safe to
assume that the same machine will be much improved in the next
four years, enough to make it a no contest election.

Of course the GOP should run a candidate in 2024. By 2022, the soccer moms and other middle of the road mush minds will be angry enough to turn their backs on the left-wing liberal demokrats. What the GOP simply must do in continue to attack the left-wing liberal demokrats hard at every possible opportunity. Learn the lessons of this loss and apply without hesitation or restraint the methods used by the demokrats, the effectiveness of interest organization, etc. to the single concerted task of defeating the left-wing liberal democrats and their partners in national genocide of freedom and independence. Sincerely. bruce.

It is said that once they coax Miss Havisham out of the DC White House, they may build a replica at Mar-A-Lago, where he can keep occupied while he gets ready to run for "re-election" in 2024.

            No...but, you don't vote.

A socialist democrat doesn't have to vote to get their vote counted.

You're calling DT a socialist Democrat? Coming off the top rope there, I would say.

In general I find retirees criticizing socialism to be ridiculous given what their income and health care cost the rest of us.

That is quite humorous coming from someone who has absorbed a great deal of it!

                    Retirees don't pay taxes?

You think that someone that paid into the system all their working years don't deserve anything, but those that have never worked a day in their like deserve everything? That's why you are called a Socialist Democrat.

This is why I have the little twit on "Ignore" and beg the rest of you NOT to quote him.

"Social Security" and Medicare are paid for by the FICA tax -- you'll see it annotated on your pay stub. "FICA" stands for Federal Insurance Contribution Act. It's INSURANCE, not the dole, and we paid every penny.

I wonder how he'd feel if his house burned, the insurance paid off, and we sneered at him and complained about how much that "cost the rest of us"?

The retirees are participating in government run and taxpayer-subsidized programs for income and health care. These are socialized programs and popular ones at that.

The existence of premiums or deduction of taxes does not change the fact that these programs meet the definition of "socialized".

So when folks enjoying these programs rail against the evils of "socialized this" or "socialized that", it rings a bit hollow, given that two of the most important things a retiree needs, health care and some guaranteed income, arise out of government programs that are specifically designed to shield them from the vicissitudes of the free market.

Is this welfare? That depends on who one asks, but in my own opinion I would say no, not welfare. But definitely socialized.

It's welfare when you get it for free...
