Let's hope that comment ages well. There is clearly a large stack of emotionally abused individuals waiting for this guy to stop hitting them.

I don't understand the chart. How is an increase of 1,493 a doubling? Probably some tricky % thing that I'm not seeing.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Fifty one percent of the counties in the US have no homicides -- none at all. Five percent of the counties have more than 68 percent. If we could change the culture of the five percent to match that of the fifty one percent, we'd cut homicides by more than 2/3s.

I note something interesting --"suicides by gun" are more than 1 1/2 times as high as homicides.

Now the antis say suicide should be lumped in with homicides because "suicide by gun is much more likely to be fatal than by other methods." They have studies proving it.

But their studies don't control by intent -- most people who ATTEMPT suicide don't want to die, they want to call attention to themselves. This is sometimes called "a cry for help." But when a guy puts the muzzle of a gun in his mouth and pulls the trigger, he's serious! You won't dissuade him by taking his gun away!

I note that those figures refer to homicides and not to all deaths by firearms. The really sad figure is the number of children and teens who have been killed. My guess is that the children were bystanders and that many of the teens were gang related shootings.

And the overwhelming majority occurred in 5% of the United State's counties -- what's wrong with those counties?

I always flunked math. There was an increase from 2018- 2019 of 419. 2019-2020 increase of 1,493. That's triple. I hate graphs too.

And note the 2019 figures are 471 LOWER than the 2017 figure.

how many repubs did mass shootings?

majority by a large margin has been dems, iirc

If Democrats would stop killing people, the homicide rate would fall by about 90%.

                            Thanks for the history lesson.

Right now, the emotionally abused supporters of Trump are amplified by the president refuting the election. Thankfulky we know they are historically too cowardly to act on their emotional outbursts, but it wouldn't be surprising if the detoxification is too much for the ego of the wrong person at the wrong time.
